European Court of Human Rights imposed Injunctive Measures

On Friday 8/7/2022, the European Court of Human Rights imposed Injunctive Measures against the eviction of Greek Roma families in Gera Papadou, Mytilene, requesting the immediate finding of alternative housing.
After being informed by the residents of the camp about the implementation of the Administrative Expulsion on Thursday 7/7/2022, our organization - Voluntary initiatives for the Greek Roma mobilize immediately, addressing the issue to a group of lawyers from Thessaloniki, who provided legal assistance and representation and whom we sincerely thank for their support.
It is worth noting that as early as the beginning of 2021, with the notification of the decision of the Municipal Council of the Municipality of Myttiline ART BRIDGES Voluntary initiatives for the Greek Roma were mobilized with strong protests and repeated urgent appeals to the competent authorities, as well as reports that they caused the intervention of the Ombudsman, for the implementation of the current legislation.
